Hi, I'm Nicole

A little about me and why I do this work

Hi, I’m Nicole McVeigh, a certified ESDM Play Therapist based in Belfast and the heart behind Play Learn Connect.

We support young children and their families to build early communication, connection, and confidence through playful, natural sessions that are centred on each child’s strengths. We meet you where your child feels most comfortable, whether that’s in our space, your home, or another familiar setting.

With a background in early child development and a deep respect for each child’s individual pace, I’ve seen how powerful meaningful play can be. Play isn’t just fun, it’s how children learn, connect, and express themselves. That’s why it sits at the core of everything we do at Play Learn Connect.

What matters to us

Connection comes first, because relationships are the foundation for growth

Warmth over worry. Therapy doesn’t have to feel clinical, it can feel like play

Family involvement matters. You know your child best, and we work alongside you every step of the way

Every child’s pace matters. There is no rush, we meet children exactly where they are

What is ESDM?

Early Start Denver Model therapy is a play-based therapy based upon the principles of ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) therapy. ESDM is child-led, empowering the child in their decisions, following their lead, and focusing on their interests and hobbies.

“The main goal of ESDM is to use play as a method of having fun and building positive relationships. The approach is to construct play and interactive activities with others. Giving children with Autism the platform in which to boost language, social, and cognitive skills”

– Chicago Autism Project.

In simple terms, we use fun, everyday play to help your child build real-life skills.

I understand how overwhelming this journey can feel, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’m here to support you and your child so you both feel understood, supported, and celebrated every step of the way.
